人から人へ受け継がれる遠州綿紬
ENSHU TSUMUGI
遠州木綿紬とは
静岡県西部、遠州地方の伝統の生地。
江戸時代の農家の冬仕事として始まったことがルーツとされています。
遠州地方は温暖な気候と豊かな自然に恵まれ、 棉作りに適していたことから
三河・泉州とならび綿の三大産地として栄えました。
四季から生まれた温かみのある日本色がどこか優しい品を感じさせ、
温かくやわらかな質感が特徴です。
今も職人の手によって作られる「遠州綿紬」はかつての産地を今に伝える希少な織物。
静岡県浜松市で今もなお、人から人へと受け継がれ、遠州綿紬は織られています。
Traditional fabrics of Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
Its roots are considered to have started as winter work for farmers in the Edo period.
Blessed with a mild climate and abundant nature, it was suitable for salmon making.
It prospered as a cotton producing area.
It features warm colors from four seasons and soft textures.
It is made in the Enshu district of Shizuoka Prefecture,
using yarn that gives a warm texture to the cloth.
"ENSHU TSUMUGI" which is made by craftsman's hand is a
rare textile which tells the former production area now.
In Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture,
Enshu is still woven from person to person, and Enshu cotton candy is woven.
